Last year we completed the £50 Challenge and raised £3155.89, by climbing Scafell Pike and hosted a coffee morning at Harrisons, this year we want to beat this total with everyone’s help!

Harrisons hosted a coffee morning at the office on Friday 7th June, which included a raffle with lots of amazing prizes donated from local businesses throughout Bolton and we raised a massive total of £1400! It was an incredible day where we had lots of clients, family and friends popping in throughout the morning to try some of the mouth-watering cakes and refreshments some of the staff baked.

We also had two special guests – Cyril the Squirrel and the famous Peter Reid!

Ashleigh Aldred, “I wish we could do the coffee morning every Friday because its amazing raising money for such an amazing charity.”

Katie Hibbert “Thank you to everyone that attended the coffee morning which helped us raise a massive £1400 for a charity so close to our hearts.”

Kay Nolan “The best part of the day for me was dressing up as Bolton Hospice’s mascot “Cyril the Squirrel” and raising £200 from passers-by.”

We are yet to complete the following events to help raise even more money for Bolton Hospice!!

Sat 22nd June – Harrisons, family and friends are climbing Old Man Coniston as last year we won the most sporty award, we would like to win this again this year!

Sat 27th July from 2pm – Harrisons, family and friends are doing a fancy dress pub crawl starting at Over Hulton – Atherton – Westhoughton – this will total a 5 mile walk.

EVERYONE is welcome who wants to join us on ANY of the events, more the merrier! Please let us know if you would like to join Harrisons by emailing allrentals@harrisonsnet.co.uk or contact the office on 01204 659670.

If you read our recent guide on the upcoming rental reforms, you will know that the biggest changes to the private rented sector in a generation are just around the corner. Phase 1 of the Renters' Rights Act comes into effect on 1 May 2026, and for landlords, the time to prepare is now, not next month.

For tenants, April is a useful point to pause and plan. With rents still rising across the UK and the first phase of rental reform approaching in England, this is a good time to review your budget, renewal options and next move.

After a subdued end to 2025, the first quarter of 2026 has quietly rebuilt confidence in the housing market. March may be the strategic launch point sellers have been waiting for.

A few weeks ago, we published our guide on preparing for the Renters' Rights Act ahead of the 1 May 2026 deadline. Since then, we have been speaking to landlords across the region every day — and the honest truth is that many are further behind than they realise.
